Why?
Penina-Hebrew began as a method of creating consistent Talmud vocabulary word lists and grew as I began to work on Hebrew reading with a dyslexic student. It soon became clear that these tools might be helpful to other teachers working with young and adult learners of Hebrew as a second language.
What is unique about Penina-Hebrew?
Penina-Hebrew is a suite of three web-based apps for teachers developing differentiated materials for students - ranging from those who are just beginning to read, to those who are already working on building their ease with advanced Hebrew vocabulary and conjugation. It is hoped that Penina will be helpful to Hebrew language instructors, Tanakh and Talmud teachers, Tefillah guides, and Adult educators looking to differentiate for their students and professionalize their materials.
Peinina-Hebrew might be used in some of the following ways:
- Teachers who want to use color-coded Nikkud to help beginning Hebrew students.
- Teachers who want the ability to add Nikkud to texts and adjust Hebrew fonts, sizing and spacing for ease of reading.
- Teachers working with dyslexic students and others who would benefit from dyslexic-friendly fonts, type-sizing, and spacing.
- Teachers who want to produce personalized AI-generated content or adjust existing writings or Tefillot with Penina's specialized Nikkud or layout tools.
- Teachers who want to keep track of students' mastery of vocabulary and use AI to create readings of personal interest to students with precise footnotes for unmastered words and accompanying comprehension questions.
- Tanakh, Talmud, and Hebrew language teachers who want to provide their students with consistently formatted word lists with quotations drawn from traditional texts or generated by AI to provide context.
How much does it cost to use Penina-Hebrew?
